Vodka based cocktail recipes

Here at The Sweet Potato Spirit Company, we're proud to be the creators of an artisan vodka that's smooth, subtly sweet and spicy all made from our very own hand-picked sweet potatoes.

Vodka is the ultimate cocktail base, with a crisp taste and endlessly versatile it pairs well with almost everything! Whether you're hosting a party, having a date night or just fancy a cheeky Friday night cocktail to round off the week these are the perfect answer!

So, shake things up! Here are 4 Vodka based recipes for you to try tonight:

Dirty Martini Cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 60ml Vodka
  • 10ml Dry Vermouth
  • 10ml Olive Brine (you can adjust this to your personal taste, add more or use less!)
  • Garnish with 2-3 green olives (again, you can adjust this to your taste)

Method:

  1. Add the vodka, dry vermouth and olive brine into a glass with ice in it.
  2. Stir the mix gently to combine and until chilled.
  3. Strain the mix into a chilled martini glass (you can also use a frozen martini glass).
  4. Garnish with the green olives on a cocktail stick.

Cosmo

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Vodka
  • 15ml Triple Sec (e.g Cointreau)
  • 30ml Cranberry Juice
  • 10ml Lime Juice
  • Garnish with orange peel zest twist or a lime wedge

Method:

  1. Add the vodka, triple sec, cranberry juice and lime juice into a shaker with some ice.
  2. Shake the mix hard until it is well chilled.
  3. Strain the mix into a chilled coupe or martini glass.
  4. Garnish with your garnish of choice (can be flamed, if you're looking for a fancy flare!)

Espresso Martini

Ingredients:

  • 40ml Vodka
  • 25ml Coffee Liqueur (e.g. Kahlua)
  • 25ml Fresh Espresso (this needs to be hot and shaken quickly)
  • 10ml Sugar Syrup (this can be optional. It depends on your preference for sweetness)
  • Garnish with 3 coffee beans

Method:

  1. Brew a fresh shot of espresso.
  2. Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso shot and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with plenty of ice in.
  3. Shake the mix hard for around 20 seconds to chill the mix and create the iconic foamy cream on top of the drink.
  4. Strain the mix into a chilled martini glass.
  5. Garnish with 3 coffee beans.

Vodka Collins

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Vodka
  • 25ml Lemon Juice
  • 15ml Sugar Syrup
  • Soda Water (to top)
  • Garnish with a lemon slice

Method:

  1. Add the vodka, lemon juice and sugar syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice in it.
  2. Shake briefly.
  3. Fill a tall glass with fresh ice.
  4. Pour the mix into the glass from the cocktail shaker.
  5. Top with soda water and gently stir.
  6. Garnish your drink with a slice of lemon.
